Bangladesh had beaten India and Sri Lanka to book its place in the final for the first time in the history of the tournament.[8] In the final match, Pakistan manages to win the match in a nail biting finish as Bangladesh falls short of target score of 236 by a mere 2 runs.[9][10][11][12] Misbah-ul-Haq is the second Asia cup victorius captain in the history of Pakistan cricket after Moin Khan.
